What are escort cards and place cards and why do you need them?
An
escort card lets your guests know exactly where they will be
seated. This is, if you have assigned seating. Each card typically has
the guests name and table number/name as to where they will be seated.
It is suitable to do one card per guest, one card per couple and/or
family. It is your event -You decide! Of course the more cards placed on
the table, the more of an effect it will have when guests walk in.
Escort cards are placed at your reception table. As soon as guests
walk into your reception this is the first thing they will see. People
go all out with reception tables so your escort cards should definitely
make a statement - Don't be afraid of color ! Color pops and will make

Once
your guests arrive to the table they have been assigned to and you have
a designated spot for them at the table, a place card is
necessary at each place setting. This allows each guest to know exactly
where they will be seated once they arrive to their designated table. A
place card can have each guests first name, full name or full
name with salutation depending on how formal your event is.
For
wedding receptions where plated meals will be served it is extremely
important for each individual guest to have a place card at their
place setting. This is especially important if each guest chose ahead of
time which meal they will be enjoying. This way the servers will know
what type of meal to server to which guest.
Instead
of physically writing on each place card the entree selection
your guest has chosen such as chicken or beef, we have created a
simpler, more elegant and discreet way of making this known to the
servers. We use different types of embellishments, ribbons or papers to
distinguish meal types instead of words. i.e. guests who chose chicken
will have a pink ribbon, guests who chose beef will have a red ribbon
etc... The embellishments colors and types are custom to your event so
you may choose items that will match your tables. Please remember the
guest tables are where your guests spend the most amount of time. Each
card is handmade and hand cut to your likings - size and design.
Place cards set at tables will add to your decor and are a very
important part of your table design.
It is very important you
let your caterer know of the chosen color coding system as soon as
